Every October, Nevadans pause to celebrate the day our state joined the Union. At Good Shepherd's Clothes Closet, Nevada Day means something more. It is a chance for friends, neighbors, and partners across Reno and Sparks to gather for one evening that fuels nearly thirty years of Hope & Dignity.
Our biggest night of the year
Join us for the Nevada Day Dinner on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 South Virginia Street in Reno. The evening includes a three-course dinner, remarks from speakers Katey Roshetko and Donald Abbott, live music from Copper Clover, a raffle, and a silent auction. Dress up and wear blue. Tickets are $120 per person or $800 for a table of eight. You can get yours at getclothes.org/nv. If your business or group would like to sponsor, email dave@getclothes.org.
Why this night matters
About 800 people walk through our doors at 540 Greenbrae Drive in Sparks every month. They find free clothing, shoes, and essentials, and they are treated with the dignity everyone deserves. All a shopper needs is an ID. Through our Micro Closet partners at Bristlecone Family Resource Center, Eddy House, and Circle Of Life Guest House, that care reaches people right where they are.
In 2025, the community helped us give away about $1.4 million worth of clothing and essentials. Those numbers are not abstract. They are coats for cold mornings, shoes for a job interview, and a clean outfit that helps someone feel ready for the day. When you buy a ticket, reserve a table, or bid at the silent auction, you help keep that work going.
What to expect
We want the night to feel special and welcoming. Expect a three-course dinner with fellow supporters, live folk music from Copper Clover, a raffle with exciting prizes, and a silent auction full of unique items and experiences. Make it a night out. Dress up, wear your favorite shade of blue, and celebrate Nevada with people who care about the same neighbors you do.
How you can be part of it
There are several ways to join in:
Buy a ticket or reserve a table at getclothes.org/nv.
Gather friends, coworkers, or your church group for a table of eight.
Ask about sponsorship by emailing dave@getclothes.org.
Share the invitation with someone who loves a night out for a good cause.
If you cannot attend, you can still support the Closet by volunteering, donating clean gently used clothing on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10 AM to 2 PM at 540 Greenbrae Drive in Sparks, or making a gift through our website.
Hope & Dignity, Battle Born style
For nearly thirty years, this community has kept our doors open. Nevada Day Dinner is our way of saying thank you and inviting you to keep standing with neighbors who need clothing, shoes, and essentials at no cost. We would love to celebrate with you.
See you on October 30. Wear blue. Bring a friend. Let's make it a night that keeps Hope & Dignity strong across Northern Nevada.
