On October 30, friends of Good Shepherd's Clothes Closet gathered at the Atlantis for our Nevada Day Dinner. It was an evening of good food, music, and conversation, and one of its most meaningful moments came when we presented this year's Hope & Dignity Awards.
The Hope & Dignity Award is our way of saying thank you to people whose care and commitment help us serve our neighbors. Every week, people walk through our doors needing something to wear for a job interview, a new school year, a cold night, or a fresh start. Meeting those needs takes many hands and many hearts, and this award recognizes some of them.
This year we were honored to recognize:
Dr. Barry Frank
Robin Engelke
Mark & Sue Teachout
To each of our winners: thank you. Your kindness reaches people you may never meet, and it helps make the Closet a place where everyone is welcomed and treated with respect. We are grateful to have you as part of this work, and we were glad to celebrate you in front of so many friends of the Closet.
We also want to thank everyone who joined us at the Atlantis and helped make the evening a success. Your presence and support carry our mission forward into the months ahead.
Good Shepherd's Clothes Closet has always been about more than clothing. It is about reminding every person who comes to us that they matter. That is what we mean when we talk about providing hope and dignity to those in need with free clothes, and it is what our Hope & Dignity Award winners help us do every day.
Congratulations once more to Dr. Barry Frank, Robin Engelke, and Mark & Sue Teachout.
